ooooooowatanite! If you were famous, I’d be the Paparazzi; but you’re not, so I am just a girl, taking your picture. Ooooowatanite. Where to begin? The A-Tease played an opening set at Irene’s and the crowd got mobilized and up and dancing by half way through the set. So many beautiful people! My boss was there with his wife, and I was a little worried about what may get conveyed at the staff meeting Monday, but he told me what happens at Irene’s stays at Irene’s, so I thank him for that. The Kingmakers played the second set, and every time I tried to catch a picture of the singer standing on the double bass, I missed my shot. Can I just say that *maybe* they are the best band I have ever seen? Do you like rockabilly? Because I do, and I’m sorry, but the double bass is probably the sexiest instrument in existence, all the slapping and twirling was making me giddy. I danced with a bunch of people I did not know, but got to know before the night was through. I met Macek who was a really good twirler on the dance floor, except the time he accidentally knocked me in the face with his forearm, which left a mark I can see, but whatever. He is Polish and we spoke even though I don’t speak Polish but he understands Russian so we talked and when we couldn’t no more, it didn’t matter because he speaks English anyway. Then I met Olga and she’s Polish too, so I got to try all the Polish I know all over again like “Witam, jak sie masz?” and “to jest moj samochod” and jeden, dwa, trzy, cztery and…you get the point if you are Polish that obviously I don’t speak much Polish. The Lowbellies played too and I can’t remember one song they did, and it’s not because they weren’t memorable, but because I was drunk. But I know that I loved it, because I danced for that whole set too. And oh, it doesn’t take much to get all you beautiful people to lick and kiss each other, and show your boobs and bellies, now does it? I took all of your e-mails down so you could come to this site and see the pics of how crazy you are, and now that you are here, you should sign up and post your pics so that you can keep reminding me of how crazy and beautiful you are. Who were you really tall guy? I asked you to pick me up and you said “what does that mean?!” and I meant pick me up off the floor, not pick me up in the other sense, and that was so funny, do you remember that? I think someone got a picture of that? Was it my boyfriend? Maybe, but he was off chatting up the ladies, so maybe not. Or maybe he was talking to Robert Plant, cuz he was there too. Sue, can I have your red boots? Were some of you guys tossing the football in the middle of Bank street after? I think I saw that as I was catching the cab to go to Grrreg’s house. You guys looked like kids at Christmas when I showed up at 2 in the morning with a case of beer. Scion who never bothered to show up at Irene’s like she said she would passed out drunk in the bed 5 minutes after I got there. Did you even hear us jamming? I dropped my camera and it is broken again, so I don’t have pictures of that. But SKuD kept saying pick a song and I honestly couldn't think of one song in the world that I knew, even though I know thousands, and knew all the ones you guys decided to play. I looked at my watch and it was 4:10 and so TPC and I had to go. I forgot my glasses and my contacts case in my car which I left parked up at Irene’s, so I had to put my contacts each in a glass of water before going to bed and this morning TPC threw the glasses in the sink with his dishes so now I don’t even have contacts anymore and have to go buy new ones tomorrow.
