a wiimarkably priceless moment in time...
so... the story goes like this...

i had decided to get my son the new nintendo wii for his birthday... but... i really wanted to throw him off the scent as he's been askin for it for a while... and... i ended up tellin him... we couldn afford it... all i could afford... was a used book. all i wanted to do was really really surprise him! so... the story... begins... on a bloody cold and frosty night...

2006.11.18 - 7pm. dad lines up... at bestbuy to get the present... 13 hours later... dad walks out.. with the gift.

2006.11.26 - 11pm - 4am. dad... plays martha effin stuart... buys a used book... guts it... glues it... and... uses it to conceal the real present.

2006.11.27 - 6:30pm. the... wiiveal! ;) that's never gonna get old!!!

and... the last entry... the birthday party... 2006.12.02 - 3:00pm. the party... was a hit.. with all his friends... and.. no black eyes.. or destroyed furniture as an outcome.
so... all in all... it was a long two weeks... but... to see his face at dinner... was... well worth the effort!

peace out to the first six (casey, jesse, zak, mii, justin, and javier) in line at bestbuy... we had a brilliantly cold time!

hahaha... actually... the little one REALLY couldn't care less about the book... and, that's not a generalization... he loves books... but i got him the most lameass collection of canadian short stories... from the 70s... something, that he definitely wouldn't be saying "yeah, i love it dad!"

i think... it worked!

and... however much of a pain in the ass it was to make the book... i now wanna make some more... to... ahm, i dunno... store my various stashes! ;)
