Was it all it's cracked up to be?
So I have had this idea of what I am trying to reach with my night life images. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I had an idea of what I am going for.
Then one day, as I go clicking link to link to link to link.. I stumble upon a website of the most beautiful night life pictures. I decided that this person and their pictures are now my inspiration. I bookmark, tell friends and fellow photogs, and add the contact information for the photographer who inspires me into my instant messenger.
A month or so passes and out of no where an alert appears on my desktop. It is the photog who inspires me to become a better photog. I say Hello and he replies. We have a nice 30 minute or so conversation. I sign off my instant messenger, shutdown my computer, and head out the door to start my work day.
As I drive along the highway for seemingly endless hours... i come to the realization that I had hoped to gain some tips, or tricks, from my inspiration. Instead, I concluded the morning's conversation to be at the same point I was before the conversation began. All in All... it was advised that I should know what I want to accomplish with my photographs and capture the story that I want to show.
All of which I already knew.
Ah well... at least I can get past the desire to meet or converse with one of those who inspire me.
