It's a frilled shark, filmed off Japan. It died a few hours after this was shot - they live below 500m down, so this one probably was sick or dying. There's a lot of fucking weird beasties in the ocean depths.

el salvador
so im off to el salvador on saturday. i have no money and no idea where im going or what im going to do there but it seems the beer is cheap and the likelihood of getting my camera stolen are high. bring it on i say. give me a surf board or give me... ummm... gallo pinto with a side of pollo. i dont know give me something my salvadoran friends cause im gonna be hungry.
i wonder who will comment on all the pretty galleries here though? will i make it onto the internet? will i take a shower? will a shark mistake me for a sea turtle and have a taste of my sunscreen covered appendages? oh so many questions.
