deep kiss last nite
man, that was another good party last night! we seem to be on a roll but i wouldn't wanna jinx it. the guest dj's, did really good, especially meikee magnetic who played his own tracks. i've known that guy for ages. we grew up together in sf back when we wuz just metalheads...err...proto-emo, actually. he went on to vj mtv japan and became some electro-hippie sex scandal model type (but he's one of the most loyal and committed 'one-girl' type a guy i've known).
seraphim, who use to spin drum and bass, became better known for her booty bass sets in sf. the manager of the beauty bar, requested we don't play anything like that for the night cuz it usually attracts the local hoodlums and they always end up getting into fights with the guests. so we warned her and she did a real nice sweet electro set. ofcourse, at the very end, she pumped the booty as her flag of rebellion! lol. that was awesome.
audrock is one of our fave electro dj's in sf now. he holds it down at a bigger club/venue as their resident and we always enjoy his stuff. after his set, though, he supposedly left mad because he didn't do as well as usual. there were tech difficulties and shit. but, noone really cared cuz everyone was having fun! i guess that doesn't matter to someone who's really acute about their spins. still, we had a blast.
lxndr is proving himself to be the new contender in sf for being not only a good dj/host but also a sound tech and designer. he'll go a long way here.
there were so many good looking (ppl) that came through again! the bar was happy we made them lots for a wednesday and they want us to keep going. i, on the other hand, am between keeping it fun and making something pro out of it. i'm interested in touring. maybe that's next?
